Thurnwood is nestled in the tranquil countryside of Dorset. We manage a small yard offering both full and part livery services, situated in an area renowned for its excellent riding opportunities. Our horses enjoy year-round turnout across 20 acres of well-maintained grass fields, accommodating only six horses alongside a small flock of Portland sheep. The landscape provides ample shade during the summer and shelter in winter, thanks to the tall hedges and mature trees.We provide high-quality haylage and wood pellet bedding. Our facilities include a new 50-metre arena equipped with jumps and dressage boards, which is always accessible for use. Riders can explore extensive bridleways, including the Wessex Ridgeway, located just a mile away. The surrounding quiet roads are suitable for driving. Hunting opportunities are plentiful, with the South Dorset, Blackmore Vale, and Portman Hunts all within easy reach. There is always a companion available for rides.Several competition venues, such as Dorset Showground, Kingston Maurward, Morton Equestrian, and Bovington Centre, are conveniently nearby. The owners reside on-site, providing round-the-clock care every day of the week. Regular visits from an instructor are scheduled, and transport to events and hunting is available.
