A quaint livery yard boasting excellent facilities where horses can truly thrive. When Ryan and I acquired Swarthdale Cottage in 2014, it was evident that extensive renovations were necessary. The livery yard was in disarray, and the grazing areas were similarly lacking. Over the past few years, we have dedicated ourselves to transforming our yard into a sanctuary for horses. It is a space where both my liveries and their horses can unwind in a safe and serene setting. Our self-contained yard is situated away from the road, accessed through a charming wooden gate, with all paddocks and amenities securely enclosed. During the summer, we offer ample grazing available around the clock, while in the winter, all-day grazing is provided. We have four distinct turnout areas designed for socialising, playing, or recuperating from injuries, all prioritising the health and well-being of the horses.Ryan and I reside on the premises, and to further ensure the safety of our horses and property, we have installed security lights, alarms, and CCTV. Central to our yard is a strong sense of community, where everyone motivates one another to excel. We recognise that owning a horse or pony can be an expensive pursuit, so why not enjoy it in a vibrant and delightful environment? Our liveries can take advantage of the following facilities: a 60x30 sand and rubber arena, a floodlit 25m round pen, an experienced qualified instructor on-site, a full course of show jumps, a complete set of rustic workers' fences, twenty acres of summer grazing available 24/7, seven acres of winter grazing, two sand paddock turnouts, one hard-standing turnout, and one turnout area with field shelter. Additionally, we provide an undercover hot horse shower, a fully insulated and heated tack room equipped with an alarm, a washing machine, a dedicated tack cleaning area with hot water, and CCTV coverage across the entire site. Each stable has an allocated feed and rug area, numerous tying points inside and outside the barns, along with bridle hooks nearby. We also offer rug drying facilities, a toilet and changing area, and a kitchen complete with a fridge/freezer, microwave, and kettle, including a special carrot fridge. Our muck trailer is covered and features a walk-in ramp, with a choice of high-quality haylage or hay provided on-site. Bedding is also included, and there is a spacious car park with storage for trailers and wagons. All stables are generously
