Retirement livery is offered in the picturesque Durham Dales, providing a sanctuary for horses. Here, your beloved companion can enjoy round-the-clock turnout in a secure and tranquil environment, complete with high-quality field shelters that protect against rain, snow, and even the rare bouts of heat. Your horse will thrive in a nurturing setting, overseen by a knowledgeable team with BHS qualifications and over four decades of experience in horse care. Daily routines include checking hooves, adjusting rugs as needed, assessing body condition, and inspecting for any injuries. We ensure proper feeding and facilitate visits from farriers, veterinarians, and other equine health professionals, promptly addressing any medical needs. Owners receive regular updates, including photographs of their horses. A stable is available for horses requiring convalescence. From November to March, haylage is provided, and additional feed can be arranged. Our packages are tailored to suit individual requirements, starting from £50 per week. The horses enjoy free-draining, permanent pasture with a natural water source from a flowing beck, and they have access to field shelters year-round. In winter, haylage is supplied in feeders that are frequently relocated to reduce ground disturbance, with hardstanding areas around gateways and access points. Routine field maintenance, including paddock cleaning, is carried out regularly. Grass livery is priced at £25 to £30 per week, depending on the horse's size, with haylage available during the winter months. We also cater to youngstock, broodmares, and horses in recovery, with pricing on application. Located in Marwood, near Barnard Castle, we have limited availability.
