Penhalwyn is a proud member of the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) and provides riding lessons for individuals aged four and above, alongside DIY livery and trekking opportunities. Our instruction caters to all ages and skill levels, allowing each rider to progress from walking to trotting, and eventually to cantering and jumping at their own pace. Some lessons include stable management, and we encourage anyone over the age of eight to arrive early or stay later to learn about horse care. Regular riders have the chance to undertake ABRS assessments, which are accredited qualifications encompassing Stable Management, Equitation, and Riding and Road Safety, with the option to progress to Instructor level if desired. We offer a diverse range of trekking experiences in one of Cornwall's most stunning locations. Our more experienced riders can enjoy one, two, or three-hour hacks that explore the moorlands near Zennor in West Penwith, ascend Trink Hill, or venture to Carnstabba behind Carbis Bay, where breathtaking views await. Additionally, we organise pub rides, allowing riders to visit a local pub for refreshments before returning. Private groups can also be arranged for special occasions such as birthdays, hen and stag dos, or corporate and social events. Furthermore, we provide DIY livery, making Penhalwyn an ideal yard for those seeking their first experience of horse or pony ownership. We also offer working livery for suitable horses and ponies that can be integrated into the riding school. For bookings or further information, please do not hesitate to telephone us.
