Venue Description:

*Limited availability from Easter 2024.* Please reach out if you wish to join the waiting list [https://wa.me/441570471541]. The horses residing at BEC Livery are not fed iron and thrive in a natural, mixed herd environment. They enjoy a fibre-rich diet, unrestricted movement, and access to both natural and man-made shelter across our picturesque 23-acre farm in serene west Wales. We make every effort to minimise their exposure to chemicals, synthetic materials, and artificial stress. Visitors often remark on the tranquillity of the setting, noting how content the horses appear. While domestication inevitably involves certain compromises for the horse, we strive to offer more freedom than what is typically found in conventional yards. It simply requires the willingness to embrace a new perspective on evolution. Horses have fundamental needs that must be met; after all, they have thrived independently for millennia, and we ought to be able to cater to their requirements. We take the well-being and happiness of your horse very seriously, treating each one as an individual and providing tailored care. What works for one horse may not suit another, and we understand that some adapt better to a natural lifestyle than others, each needing varying levels of support. Our goal is to enable horses to express their natural behaviours as much as possible, as our experience with equines has demonstrated this is best for their emotional and physical well-being. The yard owner has extensive experience in animal care, including 15 years managing a large-breed specialist boarding kennel, and has successfully completed the Equine Nutrition course at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies with a 100% pass rate. Additionally, the owner holds a CPD Certificate of Attendance from a seminar led by Joe Nasr, a medical herbalist, focusing on the preparation and uses of various herbal products. In the notably wet winter of 2015/16, we enhanced our hybrid track and rotational grazing system by introducing a spacious concrete yard, sheltered by buildings and trees, specifically designed for winter feeding during the persistent rain. This yard integrates well with our existing track and herbal grazing paddocks. During the summer, we also provide forage on the concrete yard, allowing the horses to benefit from the cool shade it offers. The yard is accessible from the track at all times. Our elevated land benefits from a constant breeze, making it ideal for horses susceptible to sweet itch; one of our retired mares has not needed a fly sheet since her arrival a decade ago.The layout
