Alex Holman is rapidly emerging as one of Great Britain’s promising event riders, having been recognised by Horse & Hound as an “Event Rider to Watch” following his impressive performances and qualification for the Badminton CCI5* in 2022. Operating from Owl House, situated near Burford, Alex now offers a range of tailored full livery services. The yard, while modest with just ten stables, provides a serene and relaxed atmosphere for the horses, allowing for personalised care for each individual. Every horse receives daily attention of the highest calibre, with a skilled team present around the clock, along with regular visits from top veterinarians, farriers, and physiotherapists. We take pride in our lovely turnout fields available throughout the year, complemented by a covered horse walker for the winter months, ensuring our horses remain happy and healthy.Alex possesses extensive experience working with a variety of horses for schooling and training, with a particular focus on developing young eventers. He began his journey with Carrick Diamond Bard at the BE100 level, skillfully guiding him to the pinnacle of the sport, where he has become a formidable competitor. Alex is now dedicated to nurturing the next generation, having successfully sourced, backed, and started several young horses who are poised to embark on their own eventing journeys. In addition to full livery services, Alex is an enthusiastic coach, offering private and group lessons at Owl House or at other locations. He has collaborated with riders of all ages and skill levels, striving to enhance confidence while helping them achieve their objectives—whether that’s securing placements at international competitions or guiding a young horse through its first arena experience.
