Venue Description:

We are Tim and Sheila Pilling, the husband-and-wife duo running Wilkinsons Farm Livery Yard, boasting more than four decades of experience in the equestrian world. Sheila began her riding journey at the tender age of three and received her first pony at five. Over the years, she has owned and cared for numerous horses and ponies. Currently, she has Eric, an 11-year-old Traditional Cob, and Silvestre, a stunning chestnut Spanish horse. Although Tim no longer rides, he is an exceptionally knowledgeable and compassionate horseman, well-loved by the horses. Our daughter Alex owns a lovely coloured mare named Molly, whom she often shows, while our granddaughter Teagan is training her beautiful Section A Dales pony, Simba, in preparation for competitions next year.At Wilkinsons Farm Livery Yard, we provide a friendly, supportive, and tranquil environment that aligns with our natural approach to horse care. This allows us to offer personalised attention to each livery horse and pony, enabling us to understand their unique personalities intimately. You can be confident that your horse or pony is cared for to the highest standards by us and our small, experienced team.Tim’s father acquired Wilkinsons Farm in 1958, originally running it as a mixed dairy and sheep farm, along with a few Assisted DIY Liveries. In 1999, the decision was made to cease farming activities and focus solely on operating a livery yard. Tim has personally constructed every stable, completed all the fencing, and transformed Wilkinsons Farm Livery Yard into what it is today. The wellbeing of our horses is of utmost importance to us. Our livery packages centre around the three essential “F’s” for the physical and mental health of the horses and ponies: freedom, friends, and forage. We take pride in offering year-round turnout, with 24/7 access during the summer months and daytime turnout in winter, maximising the time your equine can spend in the fields. We are fortunate to have separate summer and winter turnout fields, allowing for ample summer turnout and daily options in winter. Many of our horses enjoy overnight turnout in summer, coming in for rides and a hay net during the day before heading back out. Additionally, we organise several same-sex turnout groups, ensuring that your horse or pony can enjoy social interaction and grazing with companions while engaging in grooming and play. We also provide high-quality homemade forage, whether through hay, haylage, or well
